February Artist Spotlight: Nikal Fieldz

Born in the small city known as Rochester, New York, Nikal Fieldz is no new comer to Hip Hop culture. At the early age of 11 he underwent the transformation from creatively writing stories and expressing his sheltered feelings through poetry to flirting with the notion of writing rhymes. Years later flirting with the soon to be love of his life has far from lead him wrong. His name rings bells throughout upstate N.Y. for his witty yet in your face lyrical content and attitude. Honing his skill through outlets like Rochester’s formerly well known "Club Red" that held weekly freestyle ciphers and battles, Fieldz has more than earned his respect amongst his peers young and old. Recent appearance on BET’s Rapcity and 4 tracks posted on HipHopGame.com only solidifies that he must be doing something right. His current project “Almost Somebody” is receiving rave reviews and frankly put a hell of a lot of attention. The title track hits hard and directly tells you that he is here and dares anyone to try and stop him. However, it is the politically driven “Racist” that is sweeping the attention and consistently taking over college radio station by station. A strong following throughout upstate N.Y. and an increasing awareness via the World Wide Web Nikal Fieldz leaves no stone unturned. While in his travels he made connections and performed alongside artist and DJ's such as Hell Rell, Drag-On, Joe Buddens, Nina B & Will Traxx (B.E.T.'s Rap City), Young Buck, Papoose, Big Lou, Skyzoo, Torae, Emilio Rojas, DJ Kayslay, & DJ Envy. Nikal Fieldz is currently working on his new project with the syndicated DJ Noodles (FixYaFace, Sirius Satellite, & Buffalo's WBLK 93.7). While awaiting his second tour in China with DJ Annalyze and upcoming feature in The Source Magazine's "Off the Radar" column '08' looks to be a promising year.
